Zoller, H.M., Bush, Hannah. 2015. Flight Attendant Perceptions of Health. Prepared for NIOSH. Conducted qualitative analysis of NIOSH data from research participant notification response cards. Goal to improve future research notification efforts.

 

Program Evaluation: Intercommunity Justice and Peace’s Peace Camp, 2009

Contributed to a qualitative interview evaluation process of this elementary-level

program in peaceful communication.

Zoller, H.M. Community Needs Assessment for Susan G. Komen for the Cure, 2002.

Assessed breast cancer-related needs in Southwest Ohio, Indiana, and Kentucky, with a         team of graduate students.

Community Engaged Positions

National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine Committee on Personal Protective Equipment for Workplace Safety and Health  2022-Present.  Sponsored by the National Personal Protective Technology Laboratory of the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health.

Affiliate, A&S Cincinnati Project, 2019-2024. The network partners UC faculty and community members to mutually conduct research that will directly benefit marginalized people.

​

Member, Board of Directors: Ohio Citizen Action (OCA) Education Fund  2015-2023

President 2020-2022. This role resulted from research engagement with OCA’s

Good Neighbor Campaign in Addyston, OH.

​

Member, Board of Directors:  Apple Street Market    2016-2021

Researcher and Chair of Communication Committee, Secretary. The initiative sought to open a union, worker and community-owned cooperative grocery store in Northside.

​

Communication Sub-Committee:  Addyston Environmental Task Force 2005-2006

Ohio State Representative Steve Driehaus convened the task force to address

environmental and health issues surrounding the Lanxess chemical plant in

Addyston, Ohio. Updated community on the progress of the task force, and

developed long-term communication plans for plant updates and emergency

procedures. Part of an engaged research project with Ohio Citizen Action.

 

Media Contact and Spokesperson:  Coalition for a Humane Economy (CHE)     2001

Education and outreach efforts regarding the Free Trade Area of the Americas.

Wrote press releases, conducted media interviews, and planned public events.  Part of an engaged research project on globalization, trade, and activism.

Media Contact and Spokesperson:  Committee for the March for Justice   2001

Media and education around the March for Justice, organized and endorsed by community, business, labor, and civil rights organizations for improved police/community racial relations.  Conducted press conferences, sent out press releases, appeared on television news reports.  Media estimated over 3000 people attended the peaceful march.

Community-Partnered Learning: Apple Street Market    2018

Graduate students in COMM 8042 conducted qualitative research to

understand food and social justice while performing market research for this

community and worker owned cooperative grocery initiative union grocery cooperative in Northside.

Community-Partnered Learning: Cancer Justice Network    2016

Graduate students in COMM 8042 conducted qualitative research investigating

Cancer Justice Network navigators in order to provide feedback about navigator training.

​

Community Partnered Learning: BRIDGES for a Just Community   2009

Initiated a course project with COM 409 to assess the reputation and profile of

this non-profit organization dedicated to improved social relations and social justice

 in Greater Cincinnati.
